Fraud warning

It has come to our attention that a group of individuals has been extending fraudulent offers of employment to people residing within and outside of Canada. Individuals are being asked to forward on their personal information so that the immigration process can commence. Please be advised that these offers should be considered fraudulent and are acting as a means to steal your information and/or your money.

At Sylvite, we would conduct a personal interview with you prior to any offers of employment being extended. We would never ask for you to provide any money. Also, we would not ask you to provide information for an LMO process prior to an interview, offer and acceptance of same.

General Labourer

Sylvite is hiring for the position of Operations Labourer at our Putnam location. This position reports to the Operations Manager or Branch Manager for the relevant facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNCTION

  • Responsible for supporting the operations of the branch/terminal in receiving, handling and shipping crop input products

SITE OPERATIONS

  • Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations
  • Maintain professionalism and a customer service attitude towards customers or truck drivers when delivering or picking up products at the branch
  • Assist in receiving trucks, (or railcars and vessels where applicable) of fertilizer, seed, chemicals or other products as required
  • Package fertilizer or other dry products (as applicable)
  • Assist operators for blending and loading of outbound trucks
  • Load packaged products with a forklift as requested
  • Make deliveries when requested
  • Perform routine clean up and maintenance of the site
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

  • WHMIS Training
  • Forklift certificate preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Physical Conditions: Significant physical activity, repetitive and regular lifting up to 25kg.
  • Physical Environment: Outdoors with some exposure to chemicals and dust. Can include significant exposure with suitable PPE.
