Hugh Loomans


President and Chief Executive Officer, Sylvite Group of Companies

Hugh bought Sylvite in 1983 and has been active in the industry for over 25 years. He holds a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Guelph and he is a Certified Professional Agrologist. Hugh is a past-President of the Fertilizer Institute of Ontario and is a member and director of a number of North American industry and farm associations. He is a supporter of many community charitable foundations and has served on several community boards of directors. Hugh is the majority shareholder in the Sylvite Group of Companies.

 

Bob McNaughton


Vice President, Sylvite Group of Companies and President, Sylvite Agri-Services Inc.

Before he joined Sylvite, Bob held senior sales management positions at Canadian Industries Limited. He has been active in the farm supply business since 1974 when he graduated from Centralia Agricultural College. Bob is Director of the Canadian Agriculture Retailers Association and past-President of the Ontario Agriculture Retailers Association. He is a board member of the Canadian Fertilizer Institute and of the Fertilizer Safety and Security Council for the ministry of Natural Resources Canada. Bob is a shareholder of Sylvite.

 

 

Jeremy Goodfellow


Vice President, Sylvite Holdings Inc.

Jeremy provides leadership for Sylvite’s Fuel and Industrial business units, utilizing his background in procurement, operations and general management in the chemical and energy sectors. Prior to joining Sylvite, he served as Vice President, Energy at Sanimax Industries, overseeing a biodiesel and renewable energy business unit for the rendering company. He also has previous experience at Dynea (now Arclin), a resins manufacturer, in operations and procurement management roles, in addition to holding several positions at Ford Motor Company. Jeremy holds a BA in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MBA from the University of Windsor.

 

 

Kevin McCredie


President, Sylvite Financial Services Inc.

Kevin joined Sylvite Financial Services in 2002. He oversees the RMA - Risk Management Alliance which brings companies together into an insurance purchasing group. Kevin is a professional agrologist and has held senior management positions in banking, agri-business, consulting and entrepreneurial ventures. Kevin has a degree in Agricultural Business and Economics from the University of Guelph and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA. He is a board member of the Associated Proteins Board and he volunteers as Vice-Chair for Save the Mothers, a community-based organization.

 

Ted Heggart


Vice President

Ted has held a number of senior financial positions within Sylvite since 1989, including Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Sylvite, his experience was in the insurance and automotive industries. Ted is a Chartered Accountant and has a B.Sc. from Brock University and an MBA from McMaster University.

 

Brad Culp


General Manager, Sylvite Transportation Group

Brad has been Involved in the transportation industry since 1999.  Prior to joining Sylvite, he was a Terminal Manager at Laidlaw Carriers Flatbed Division LP Inc. (Hagersville, ON).  He has also held positions at Mobile Cartage and Distributors Ltd., and at Multi-Freight Express Inc.  Brad is experienced in finding innovative, cost-effective solutions for customers leveraging a number of transportation service offerings.  Brad has a very diverse transportation, logisitics and warehousing background with considerable experience in each sector.  

 

Jim Thomson


Chief Financial Officer

Jim joined Sylvite in the spring of 2006. He is a Chartered Accountant with a diversified background that spans over 25 years in a number of industry sectors. He also holds a Corporate Finance designation.  Most recently, he served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for Shred-it International Inc., a global document destruction and record management company. Prior to joining Shred-it, Jim was the Director of Finance for Conor Pacific Environmental Technologies Inc., a publicly traded environmental technology and consulting company. He also has previous experience as Director of Finance at Laidlaw Waste Systems as well as Chief Financial Officer and Controller for Howell Transport Inc.

 

Melanie Warr


Human Resources Director

Prior to joining Sylvite, Melanie held various human resources positions with Westinghouse Canada Inc. She has over 25 years experience in the field implementing human resources best practices within organizations where she has worked. She served as industrial leaders Committee Member of the Ontario Business Consortium which consulted with the provincial Minister of Human Resources who was responsible for the implementation of Employment Equity legislation. Melanie is involved in community outreach with various organizations.
