The Sylvite Group of Companies is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for its employees and visitors to its facilities. Our Health & Safety Program is a top priority for the company and the success of the program depends on the personal commitment of all.

Sylvite is responsible for leading and ensuring safe operations through maintaining the plant, warehouse and equipment in a safe working condition; providing proper training; and ensuring necessary personal protective equipment is used. We will use the best available management tools in a constructive and aggressive program to identify and control all serious hazards to health, life and property. The company will provide information to employees about workplace safety and health issues through regular internal communication channels such as supervisor-employee meetings, bulletin board postings, Health & Safety Committee minutes, and other written communications.

Employees are responsible for following safe practices and procedures; to be mindful of the safety of others; reporting unsafe conditions and practices to their supervisor; and ensuring they use the necessary personal protective equipment required.

Employee involvement in the Joint Workplace Health & Safety Committee is an essential component of our program. This committee will analyze, discuss, investigate and make recommendations to management on health and safety concerns. Management will follow up and implement recommendations where feasible and take an active role in the committee activities as an equal partner.

All sub-contractors and their employees, as well as visitors, must be in compliance with our Occupational Health and Safety Program standards.
